We would like to tell you about the additions and enhancements we've made to Microsoft Health CUI in the September 2009 release.
New Design Guidance and Toolkit Controls
We've released the following new guidance documents:
-
Design Guidance – Clinical Noting in Forms: Admissions Clerking
provides guidance and recommendations for the design and functionality needed to enable electronic clinical noting, especially in the area of acute admissions clerking.
The admissions clerking guidance shows not only how to feature standard user interface fields but also how to capture more specialized data entry structures. In this and other ways, the guidance exemplifies potential solutions for a wider set of clinical noting user interface challenges.
-
Design Guidance – Timeline View
provides guidance and recommendations for the design and functionality required to graphically portray patient clinical data over time periods.
This guidance shows how best to visualize clinical events and durations to provide clinicians with a richer context for understanding a patient’s condition. Its purpose is to define the best approaches to take when presenting information on a timescale – in isolation or in combination with other, quantitative data – to assist clinicians in identifying meaningful and diagnostic patterns.
We've also made the following changes/additions to the site:
-
DateLabel and
TimeLabel controls implemented in Microsoft
® Silverlight
™ and Windows
® Presentation Foundation (WPF).

In addition to the release of new guidance and control versions, we've updated the Roadmap page to show the latest schedule for planned and in progress items.
We hope you enjoy using our new features. Please provide feedback to mscui@microsoft.com or on our
